Illawong Sanctuary is a small family business offering "Hands on" Experience to the local community and visitors to our beautiful area a unique Australian Native Fauna and Flora experience based on the principles of Eco Tourism. Commencing 1987 on a small block of land in Mackay it soon needed to expand. In 1997 Illawong relocated to a 4.5 Hectare site near Mirani on the way to the eungella National Park in the Pioneer Valley. |
| THE SANCTUARY has a good range of Kangaroos, Crocodiles, Koalas, Emus, Dingo, Wombats and many more, displayed in very spacious grounds that include a tropical Fruit Garden and Natural Scrubland. |

GUM TREE TOURS provide access to the Sanctuary for Daily Tours and Night spotting Dinners. Visits to the Central Queensland Sapphire Fields are also available. |

HOME STAY is a spacious Family Unit that enables Visitors long Term access to OUR Australiana. |
| ILLAWONG CATERING Preparation of Meats for most of our dishes is on a spit fired by good old Aussie hardwood that imparts a very distinctive taste and aroma. |
| Our Group serving facilities enable large numbers to be catered for in a very short time. Banquet style Table service allows instant choices to be made. Illawong has no set Menu, but has a style of cuisine that combines typical Australian flair with that of Switzerland. |
